Santa Fe is the number three city of Bogotá Capital District. It forms the traditional city center, sharing with La Candelaria, a town that is nestled within its territory, separated in 1991. The town Santa Fe derived its name from the ancient name of the capital. Much of the colonial Bogotá and early twentieth century is in this location.
